Utopian Internationalism at the Dawn of a Bloody Century
As the culmination of a year long collaborative project, The Center for Race and Ethnicity (CRE) and The Rutgers British Studies Center (RBSC) announce a day long symposium onApril 24, 2015, "The Universal Races Congress of 1911: Utopian Internationalism at the Dawn of a Bloody Century." The symposium features keynotes by Arnulf Becker Lorca (Brown University); Marina Mogilner (University of Illinois, Chicago) and Alice Conklin (Ohio State) along with short workshop papers on "The Geopolitics of Representing Race" and "Southern Questions, Race Crossings."
