Masterclass by Carla Yanni: A Brief Introduction to Reading Architectural Plans

Monday, October 04, 2021 - 04:00pm - 05:00pm

Would you like to know more about the relationship between architectural plans and the built environment, to understand how a plan is and isn’t related to the world it describes?

Join us on October 4th at 4:00pm for a masterclass by Carla Yanni (Distinguished Professor, Art History, Rutgers).

This is an IN PERSON EVENT for the Rutgers Community (Room 6051, Academic Building West Wing).

Carla Yanni will introduce different types of architectural evidence and lead the group through the plans of a variety of nineteenth-century buildings in this introduction to methods and materials intended to be of interest to more than architectural historians.

*Carla Yanni is the author of Victorian Science and the Architecture of Display (2000), The Architecture of Madness: Insane Asylums in the United States (2007), and Living on Campus: An Architectural History of the American Dormitory (2019).
